2010

Yay it's 2010! And only about 4 months or so until Rebecca gets her baby sister :-) Yes the ultrasound showed a little girl. So we'll continue enjoying life in pink!

We welcomed 2010 with our good friends Martin and Line and their children Vigga and Aksel. They left a few days ago and Rebecca is STILL talking about Vigga and all the things they got up to. It's lovely that's she's gotten so big and can tell us what she's thinking.

Rebecca's in a good phase right now - very few tantrums which we're happy about. She's just so happy and smiley and cute all the time. Every time she goes through a tempetuous phase we continuously tell ourselves that she's going to come out on the other side "older and wiser"! LOL. She's really landed into 2010 a bigger girl. She giggles and teases and has a great sense of humour! She chats a lot - and generally keeps us well-informed ;-) The midwife at the ultrasound couldn't believe that our little chatterbox was only 2 years and 4 months...!

Hope everyone had a good start to 2010.

All our love
Carmen & Kasper

Season's Greetings!

This year we held Christmas in Denmark with Kasper's family. We had a lovely time and Rebecca took it all very well. Of course she doesn't understand much, but she thoroughly ENJOYED all the attention she got from her grandparents and aunts and uncles!

We're spending New Year's Eve with two couple friends of ours with babies. Funny how things have changed. Usually we look forward to a big party (preferably in the sand at "Amphis" in Swakopmund, Namibia) but this year we're looking forward to a nice, civilised quiet dinner with close friends and our kids :-) Wow - we're grown-ups...

Rebecca's website has server trouble

Hej allesammen

Hi everbody
Unfortunately Rebecca's website provider has server problems. Until these are solved, we cannot upload the latest photos - including those taken at her christening!

Kærlig hilsen / Love
Kasper, Carmen & Rebecca

Pregnancy update

Hi friends

Well yesterday it was officially 100 days until my due date! Last night (or the early hours of this morning) also marked the first "official" leg cramps - I've heard so much about them. Ow ow ow - so uncomfortable and scary in the middle of the night...

Otherwise I seem to be doing fine. Last time my measurements were taken at the doctor my uterus was 21cm which was "average" for two weeks ago. I've definitely grown since then - in fact I feel like I've doubled in size the past week :-) and Baby Hyttel kicks like crazy demanding more space!

On Saturday we're going to order the pram. In Denmark you don't just go to the shop, buy a pram and take it home. Oh no! You have to order it 6 - 18 weeks in advance depending on the model and July is official summer holidays here for most factories, so we need to order a further 3 weeks in advance. When the shop receives your order they store it for you until the baby's born and proud father fetches it. Although not superstitious folk, Danes believe it bad luck to bring the pram home or set up the cot / crib before the baby's born.

One other thing, it looks like we might be moving to our own place in July... but I'M NOT SAYING ANYMORE until ALL papers are signed!! So watch this space :-)

Love
Carmen
